About us

We are a family run restaurant with over 35+ years of experience.

Caffe Delhi is Run by Executive Chef and owner Sanjiv “Mickey” Chopra.

Chef Chopra culinary journey started in New Delhi India with his Father Kishan Dev Chopra aka Nikkoo Sha who owned an iconic Indian restaurant “Kake Da Hotel“ in Connaught Place , Delhi.

Chef Chopra learned his father’s recipes from him like Butter Chicken, Saag Meat, Daal Makhani and vegetarian dishes like baingan bhartha, Bhindi Masala, Dum aloo from his mom Kamala Devi Chopra at home.

Chef Chopra moved to US in 1987 and always dreamed to open his own Indian restaurant and keep his parent’s legacy alive.

His Dream came true when Chef Chopra and hiw wife Bhavana opened Caffe Delhi Fine Indian Cuisine Restaurant in Denville NJ, where he introduced all dishes her learned from his parents and rest is history.

Caffe Delhi rose to Best Indian Restaurant in Morris and Essex County by reader choice and earned awards.

Caffe Delhi is known for its high quality food, ambiance and great hospitality. Caffe Delhi offers live music every Friday night by well known music artist.

Executive Chef

Maximino arrived in the U.S. from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala in 2002 and began his journey working on a coffee farm. From dishwashing in Indian restaurants to mastering the art of Indian cuisine, he has risen to become one of the best executive chefs. We're proud to have him on the Caffe Delhi team. His specialties include Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Lamb Rogan Josh, Saag Paneer, Daal Makhani, and Malai Kofta. Ask your server for the chef special!

Tandoori Chef

Elmer left Honduras in 2022 and arrived in the U.S. He started as a prep and sandwich maker, then joined Caffe Delhi as a dishwasher. Under the mentorship of Maximino and training from Sanjiv Chopra, Elmer mastered the art of Indian tandoori cooking — from naan breads to paneer tikka, tandoori chicken, and kebabs. Within 4 months, he became an expert. We’re honored to have him on our team.
